We live in an age of global hyper connectivity. So many eyeballs to service with our content. So much to see. So much to comment on, and interact with.
And there is the problem.
We willingly succumb to the zillions of distractions at our fingertips. We surf. We click. We swipe. The World Wide Web is a time sponge, soaking up our precious minute and hours. And this tsunami of distraction hurts our efforts to build our business. It neutralises our marketing effort. We continuous partial marketers, leading to increased stress and decreased ability to focus on our marketing effort.
Don’t let cognitive dissonance fool you into thinking that you are marketing just because you posted an update, ‘liked’ or commented a couple of times today. Continuous partial marketing is as much a waste of time as click tourism.
Set aside marketing time every day, every week. Follow a strategy, aim for goals. Don’t get distracted from the business of building your business. Don’t fall into the continuous partial marketing trap.
