Don’t let regrets hold you back

00 chains (1)

I am old enough to know that people who say they have no regrets are deluding themselves. Everyone has regrets.

‘I shouldn’t have done that’

‘I should have taken that job’

‘I wish I had spoken out’

‘I wish I’d read the instructions first’

‘I could have handled that better’

Some big, some small, but regrets non the less.

Many people use their regrets to feed their fear, paralysing them from taking action, from moving forward.

Better to embrace them and grow.

Use your regrets as a platform to keep moving forward.

What’s you biggest regret and what did you learn? Mine in the comments.

My biggest regret is that I spent so much time working for other people when my dream was to work for myself, I missed out on so many opportunities and experiences. I started working for myself in my 40’s. Should have done it much sooner because I would have ‘retired’ much earlier than I actually did (retired in the sense of no longer needing to work, but choosing to work). My lesson – don’t wait for the perfect conditions, go for your dream.
